Here we are at #dversepoetspub punching our way to #quadrille160. Thank you, De, for the prompt.

Punch drunk #quadrille.
Punch drunk workers lacking life’s respect,
Punch drunk workers lacking life’s love,
Punch drunk workers lacking life’s quality,
Punch drunk workers lacking life’s satisfaction.
Working poet showing grafters respect,
Working poet showing grafters love,
Poetry showing grafters quality of life
This poet gains satisfaction.
#Quadrille, #dverse.

I like the repetition here, it works well for you. Feels like work often does, nose to the grindstone, round and round and round…

I agree with De, the repetition allows us to feel that lack, and then the duality with the gifted poet!

I agree about the repetition, Rog. So glad I’m a poet and not a punchdrunk worker.

Nice poem, Rob. I don’t know anyone who is punch drunk.
Drinking too much, yes, but not from head blows.

I think it’s about making the unseen and unheard seen and heard.

The fruitless wash-rinse-repeat of it all is well-heard by the repetition in the punch half as does the poet giving voice to seemingly unheard tiredness.
