If I made a list

the Banksy Tank painted in the Leake street Tunnels under waterloo

If I made a list!

#quadrille

If I made list of things I could protest!

War,

Slavery,

Corruption,

Pollution,

Excess,

And,

And,

And.

It’s a long, long list never ending list (almost)

But who would hear, the politicians?

Direct action protest, does it work?

How about a protest poem? Yes.

thanks #dversepoetrypub for another great quadrille prompt.

Double Whammy #quadrille

double whammy because I’m writing to two prompts, one word challenge from fandangos page #FOWC to include the word unclear. and #dversepoetrypub have prompted us all to write a #quadrille to include the word jump.

Unclear Quadrille.

#FOWC, #Dversepoetrypub, #quadrille

Sat watching the darkness,
My mind unclear, foggy.

My top floor window,
brightly lit from behind,
making the darkness deeper,
inviting me to JUMP.

Sat watching the darkness,
My mind unclear, foggy.

A switch flicks off,
From somewhere behind me,
The moons smile defogs.

Join The Jibber jabber free,
The snail way home,
Free way of living.

Free living your way,
City jibber jabber gone,
Care free and happy.

Carrying your home wherever,
You go whenever, Always Free.

Slow, steady, ready,
Peace, quiet found.

Glad to be back to #dversepoetrypub writing quadrilles again .

Thorny #quadrille

Thorny.

#Genepitney, #quadrille, #dversepoetrypub .

Thorny days just past,

Beer served ice cold,

Over hot coals dragged,

Not chilling, just toxic.

Around every twisted corner,

Stands another horny temptation,

24 hours from Tulsa.

True love, never existed,

Cold partner, gold digger,

Dragged myself over coals,

For tolerated emotional neglect.

Welcome to todays quadrille from #dversepoetrypub. thanks to Lisa for reminding me of Gene Pitney’s song 24 hours from Tulsa which i heard on the radio today for the first time in an absolute age. which has gone on to influence my poem this evening.

Death of Romance #Quadrille

The death of romance.

It came, life did, those dog days
Full of hate, and darkness,
Took romance by the hand,
Escorted her down a dark alley,
Smashed her pretty face in,
With a 14-pound sledge hammer,
Brutal and depraved under,
Midnight moon.

Howling in pain she died.
