life’s labour #quadrille159

Here we are again at the poet’s pub enjoying the quadrilles and the company of kindred spirits.

don’t let the hourglass of life slip you past. grab life by the horns and enjoy.

sands of life.

thank you msjadeli at #dversepotspub for a great prompt.

Life’s labours!

#quadrille159, # labour, #grafter.

We labour through the University of life,

Meeting abuse for our efforts.

We labour through life,

Being born just once.

Learn to enjoy life.

We labour through life,

Meeting death just once.

Reject abuse of your efforts,

Passing along wisdom from university of life.

My choice #mychoice

Hello all how are we this evening? tonight at #dversepoets pub we are discussing choice.

I have gone for the kind of choice that most people have a had time with. But one I believe needs to be discussed with our loved ones.

thank you Grace and Christopher for a grand choice of word.

My choice!

Tis my choice,

when the end is nigh,

A clinic in Switzerland?

A leap from a bridge?

Help from a loved one?

Whichever is the fastest please.

We call ourselves humane,

When we put pets out of their pain,

But our family and friends,

We make to suffer,

Whose choice, is it?

When the time comes.

Why is it so hard for those,

Who love us to let,

Our suffering ends?

If at my end, I am of sound mind,

It will my choice,

To be euthanized.

why is it illegal?

If I no longer want to suffer,

That I cannot ask such a thing.

my choice which one

shelter #haibun

feed the world,

Today at #dversepoetspub mish has invited us to talk about shelter. something we all have the right to. but some of us have the means to earn our shelter removed.

Shelter #haibun.

Have you ever had the choice of eating or a roof over your head? Ever had to try and survive a month with only £10 for food? So, the shelter of a kindly relative offering a hot meal each day was a savour. I soon moved away from that toxic situation of low wages and high rent. I have empathy for those who are not able to do so. The private school boys who now run Britain are paddling this green and pleasant land down the river without a paddle.

Despite life having moved on here in England the fuel companies think they have the right to fleece their customers. Making huge profits while whole families go with out food and warmth. I am really concerned with the English governments attitude to class system. They have not the right to ignore the suffering of millions as they sit in their ivory towers swigging expensive wine.

Physco leaders reap,                            Fuel prices rise up,

Billionaires drain society,                    Wealth grabbing fuel suppler,

Families crushed.                                 Killed for wealth.

ENDING #dverse, #poem

Thanks Laura for quite the challenging prompt.

#dverse.

Since we did fallout, our friendship did end,

There’s no more to share, we did share too much,

No one else at fault, but our own weak wills,

Help losing our inhibitions, we should not have indulged.

Come drop our regrets, our friendship too passionate,

Let love be love, forsaking only sweat memories,

Us who once were, friends of deep connection,

Kiss leading beyond boundaries, lust taking us beyond.

And then friendship failed, broken connections with physicality,

Part of our relationship, will live forever within my heart.

Based on the line “Since there’s no help, come let us kiss and part.”

call of the sea #Dverse

call of the sea

Thank you Sarah at the #dversepub talked about the four elements Earth, Air, Water, Fire. As a pieces I am drawn to the sea.

Call of the sea.

The sea calls me by name,

Pisceans globally,

hear this same call,

the call to leave,

Leave the land,

 To save our seas.

The land discards me,

Taurus bullshit pollutes,

My state of mind,

Pushing, pushing, pushing,

Until my mind boils,

Only the sea can save me.
