Thank you msjadeli for tonight’s prompt a challenge indeed.

144 words unspoken!
Based on a line from a poem posted on Facebook called Notes from Uvalde, About the recent shooting well worth a read.
โThese are the things they Donโt tell us โ girl du jour notes from Uvalde.โ
It got me thinking about my children growing up and needing their own lives to live.
These are the things they donโt tell us, 144 words unspoken. Always 144 unspoken words between children and parents as they grow. Why 144 it was all I counted before they ended their childhood. I grew in one direction and my child in another.
It is only natural as both myself and my children grow. As my offspring grow into adults, I have no need to know the things they do not tell. Just a need to know they are safe and happy.
Young adults now with a hint of the children they once were still glinting in their eyes. Hopefully still able to come to me when they need comfort. Always remembering they are safe and loved here at home. It is hard to let them go but I must let them grow beyond those144 words unspoken of childhood and home.
