Running

Halloween moon
Running #quadrille
#dverse, #quadrille

Running from myself, scared of sharing my poetry,
Anywhere.
Scurrying away from you, unable to reveal my words,
Somewhere.
Scampering with fear of rejection, wanting my words herd,
By somebody.

Falling into a café’s poetry session out of the rain.
Poetry dragged from me.

  1. LOVE this! Do hope you share your poetry with many!!!
I think there are many who run away from sharing —- not only in writing, but also in speaking, in sharing their presence. One of the reasons I’m always happy to be with dVerse is because of the caring and supportive nature of the site. Personally speaking, I’ve learned a ton here….by reading what others share as well as by trying new forms etc. Thanks for sharing and posting!

    1. I have learnt to share, big time. even stood up at an event on Saturday and shared to an audience while backed by a group of Morris dance group musicians. and I really enjoyed the whole expereince.

  2. I remember feeling like that when I first started to blog and share poems, Rog. At my first reading, I thought everyone could hear my heart beating – without a microphone! Very well expressed.

  3. I so relate to this…. When I first wrote I kept hovering my finger over the publish button, took about half an hour before I built courage – what was the worst that could happen? – so glad I did as so many lovely poets here – I feel I belong in a little poetry community …

  4. It is definitely intimidating! But it’s like they say, no guts no glory. Keep writing and sharing, Rog ❤️❤️❤️
