Brushed #qudrille

hello poetry Bloggers of the world her at #dverse poetry pub on a quadrille Monday we have been tempted with the word brush by Lisa.

got me thinking about all those years ago as a teenager when we are still learning so much about how to do the grown up stuff.

Brushed!
#quadrille, #acrostic.

Brushed with bruises from falling into your eyes,
Rushed to quickly into your arms,
Ushered in way to deep,
Shushed when I spoke of my love,
Hushed by your lack of interest,
Escaped heartbreak at your whim,
Dashed and bruised ego learnt self - restraint.

Totally unsure of what to expect. But I do need to get to know these people as we will be performing together on sat October 28th at a local Art Fair. Organised by a talented local artist. These musicians playing music with me reciting some of my poetry.

New challenge ahead.

Much Fun expected.

summers embers. #foldpoem.

triple leaf.
golden misty sunrise

Thank you Melissa for sharing Gillian’s fold poetry form here at #dversepoetspub.

first frozen cobwebs.
Summers Embers.
#foldpoems.

Summers Embers, radiate their last heat,
Orange touches both sky and tree tops,
Fold, fold, fold away memories of summer,
Melancholic feelings of wasted time under sun,
October’s gloom steals their last heat,
Windy vortex touches both sky and tree tops,
Acorns fall with the memories of summer,
Cobwebs start to freeze with first frosts,
Scarecrows feeling, they wasted time under sun,
Apple pies baked and shared, with summers last ice cream,
Firewood now adding to their last heat.

spider sliver #quadrille

hello all at #dversepoets pub this evening where we are writing quadrilles a poem of 44 words to include the word sliver.

Spider
 sliver #quadrille.

A sliver of dawn sunlight catches,
My smog covered web,
Giving away my locale.

I sliver away like the adder,
In the foggy morning light,
Until my killing web recedes.

This autumn misty morn,
Mating season has arrived,
Droplets covering slivers of my web.

Siblings afoot

Barking at the wind

hi #dversepoetspub tonight you have prompted us to create a poem about our siblings. above is a link created by me and my siblings back in lockdown over a video meeting.

#so a second part has been added with a few reminders for them to giggle over about some of our antics growing up. a link to this will be shared via WhatsApp.

Siblings afoot.
(Barking at the wind part 2)

Run babysitter run.
This foursome will become more.
Growing up together,
Taking on the world.

Fun babysitter fun,
This fivesome will become more
Throwing cushion together,
Taking on the world.

Gone babysitter gone,
This sixsome will become more,
Learning the skills of live together,
Conquering the world.

Six grown into many,
Watch out world here we come,
Stronger together than alone,
Still barking at the wind.
