poisoned home
Litter bugs!
To litter on your own doorstep,
Is to poison your childโs home,
Teaching your offspring self-harm,
Matriarch, patriarch it does not matter,
If we teach asphyxia to our young.
To litter a neighbourโs doorstep,
Is to poison their childrenโs home,
Teaching our neighbours of our ignorance,
African, European, Asian, South American it does not matter,
thank you Laura for hosting #Dversepub this evening with words of departure. I have been wondering how to say goodbye to Draco and Persephone. your prompt reminded me of Roy Batty’s last words “All moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.” atop that rain soaked roof.
Blade Runner is a favourite film of mine, thank you Ridley Scott and co. and thank yo Phillip K Dick for the book it was based upon.
Tonight’s’ prompt has me wishing for the beach on a summer night, star gazing.
Tonight Merril @dversepub chose to have a summer Ekphrastic evening. I have chosen two prompts from her choices a picture titled Summer Day and a line from the poem “summer stars” by Carl Sandburg both included in this post.
โBend low again, night of summer stars. So near you are, sky of summer stars, *So near, a long-arm man can pick off stars,* Pick off what he wants in the sky bowl, So near you are, summer stars, So near, strumming, strumming, So lazy and hum-strumming.โ
