Stay Atomic

Tonight at #dverse poet pub Lillian asked us to right a poem using songs that were number one on our birthday.

I was born in march of 1970 and on my tenth birthday Blondie was number one with Atomic. Which is a song I have always enjoyed. Thanks for the link to the sight it was fun it also let me know that Shakespeare’s sister was number one on my 22nd birthday another song i have always enjoyed. So the question this brought up is should we Stay Atomic? #ashes

atomic glow

Humanities ashes!

Hill top spectacle of destruction

Ashes float and drift down

Joining those coverting my Ankles.

Should we Stay Atomic cherished survivors?

Man falling out with Woman,

One people falling out with another,

As one religion declines the love

 of any different faith.

Stay Atomic? Really!

Setting each other’s nerves ajar!

As riots over fuel take hold,

Atomic bombs drop,

Cinders settle to late!

Ashes of humanity

settle over our homes,

City, town, village or farm! All gone!

What song shall play?

When peace is born

And comes to stay when

Atomic no longer used

 for loathing and annihilation.
