Leaves changing
Into autumn colours
Swallows flying south

Leaves changing
Into autumn colours
Swallows flying south

October morning
Heavy grey clouds linger
Autumn awakening

I am goning to attempt a series of daily Haiku for the month of october.

Carved toothed grin.
Back lit candles glowing
Who ate my insides?

The wo, wo, world has gone crazy
For cobblestones and tea bags
Emptying petrol stations of fuel
Half full of idiots
From somewhere up north
And anyplace down south
Emptying the shelves of tea bags
And the pumps off diesel
Driving the madness over the cobblestones for fun
I respond to the media fed fear.
As the media feeds the panic buyers more gobbledygook
with this little ditty.

I thought i would share this with you tonight dear #dverse poets. the first draft did not contain any reference to the fuel madness that has struck England this last week. The media coverage which caused the panic at the fuel pumps reeminded me of the start of the pandemic when the same panic happend with toilet paper and tea bags. I have not shared the first draft any where but thought it was about time this poem had an airing. just releasing a bit of het up frustration with the way things are being handled.
Tonight at #dverse poet pub Lillian asked us to right a poem using songs that were number one on our birthday.
I was born in march of 1970 and on my tenth birthday Blondie was number one with Atomic. Which is a song I have always enjoyed. Thanks for the link to the sight it was fun it also let me know that Shakespeare’s sister was number one on my 22nd birthday another song i have always enjoyed. So the question this brought up is should we Stay Atomic? #ashes

atomic glow
Hill top spectacle of destruction
Ashes float and drift down
Joining those coverting my Ankles.
Should we Stay Atomic cherished survivors?
Man falling out with Woman,
One people falling out with another,
As one religion declines the love
of any different faith.
Stay Atomic? Really!
Setting each other’s nerves ajar!
As riots over fuel take hold,
Atomic bombs drop,
Cinders settle to late!
Ashes of humanity
settle over our homes,
City, town, village or farm! All gone!
What song shall play?
When peace is born
And comes to stay when
Atomic no longer used
for loathing and annihilation.
