H.A.T Haiku hiatus

#haiku, #dverse, #poetspub, #nowar.

#haikuchallenge

Mish has invited us to write about hats here at the #dverse poets pub this evening. After getting upset with pics from Ukraine this morning I had no choice for my subject matter.

Hard hat hiding hate,

Heaving hatred heavenly,

Honeyed heart hurting.

Atrocities against,

Areas annihilated,

Angry angels sob.

Tyrannical temper,

Tearing truth to tatters,

Turmoil will end.

Peace and love to all,

Sending support to those wearing,

 Hats of bravery.

Lonely rider

#dverse #prosery#springissprung

A Wordsworth inspired prose of 144 words #dverse tonight. what a fitting line for the photo I snapped at the top of the hill on my cycle home from work this evening, second of the photos posted. The first photo was taken back on febraury the 25th on the way down to work.

Lonely rider.

I ride the lonely lanes through the farms on the edge of town back and forth to work. Hardly any daffodils to behold. Plenty of horses, sheep and crops waiting for the spring to warm them. The hedgerows buds starting to burst. The blackthorn showing off its white blooms, gleaming in the morning sun when it shows itself from behind the clouds.

blackthorn in bloom.

Each morning Farm dogs greet me as I cycle past their farmyard homes wishing me a safe journey down the hill to work. Tucked up in bed they are each return up the hill. The red kites call sometimes welcome me to the hilltop. But when I wondered lonely as a cloud this evening with a puncture on my cycles wheel, a lonely cloud did pass in front the setting sun making me think of the poet Wordsworth until I arrived home.

Lady Clara Carroll

A tribute to Lewis Carrol’s poems, #dverse, #poems.

Influenced by the three poems “A strange wild song, my fancy and Echoes.” There are even some echoes of these poems within. Can you spot the other Carrol poem references?

Echoes of lust bounce around this pub,

A lighter touch I needed,

If you are to be my fancy woman,

Can I call you Candy?

A strange and wild girl never,

Danced with a walrus like me,

But don’t tell the wife,

Or I shall fear for my life!

Carrol crush saga now over,

Lady Clara Carrol cusses,

Like a Jabberwocky carpenter,

Now echoed around the #dverse poets pub.

Love, hate, honour, grief,

Caught by third eye.

End to hate, grief,

End to wars totally,

When humanity grows up,

Watched by third eye.

When will we start,

Presenting Earth our affections.

Roof Top #Ekphrastic

JOHN SLOANS, Sun and wind on the roof.

i was taken by the picture featured “wind and sun on the roof top” by John Sloan as it took me to where my heart wanted to be.

Roof top #ekphrastic.

Prompted by merrildsmith at #dversepoetspub.

Windy roof top calls,

Relief from mayhem below,

Wind whipping bed sheets,

High above the chaos of war.

Radio switched off,

To the squall I listen,

Replacing news of death,

The wind hiding my tears.

Here at roof top retreat,

The wind blows away my cries,

Of despair at the news,

That man cannot get along.

I ask the Wind on roof top,

As I hang out my sheets,

Why is man his own hunter?

The wind of war rages, it is just the wind.

I whisper to the roof top wind,

Let us have peace,

For now, and forever,

Hoping it finds others murmurs,

Turning into bellows of love over hate.
