written for the monday prosery promt today at #dversepotepub.
we have been invited to use the line “i dress in their stories patterned and purple as night” from Kimberly Bleaser’s poem “where we sing of might”. this got me thinking about the John Lennon song Imagine.
our lost children
“I dress in their stories patterned and purple as night.” As I mourn the lost children of the world.
From the street children of India to the missing, stolen, sold children of the down trodden and refugee children from war. Why do we call ourselves civilised when we allow the psychopathic leaders of the world to as they want?
The pattern of all child abuse should not be allowed where ever you live in the world or determine if get educated.
John Lennon sang “imagine all the people living in peace.”
And “imagine there are no countries”.
His words of wisdom I believe could help cure our uncivilised approach to society. To cure our home, we need to take out the rot that has set into humanities leadership. Treating us all equally makes us and our home more civilised.

I agree Rog – the rot starts at the top and filters down.

Rog, you wrote a heartfelt plea. I’m imagining John thinking of the children as he wrote his lyrics.

True that, and well said (albeit a couple of typos). All my life I have watched the fund-raising charities endeavor to help the abused and hungry children of the world. Now I cannot see beyond my own borders. For there is plenty to be done to assist our own children.

We must never stop saying what you say. Never, ever. What you wrote here is so important for that. ….I don’t know how such horrible people get into power so often..very true..

While we’re waving banners and guns to protest about ‘saving’ embryos and unviable foetuses we seen to forget the millions of children already born and suffering, in poverty-stricken homes, in camps, on borders, in wars that we actively encourage, and in sweat shops to make cheap crap for us to wear. Priorities.

But if we refuse to protect the most vulnerable, the preborn, all human life is cheapened. Child abuse has increased since Roe v. Wade legalized abortion in the U.S. Our constitution was written to protect life and liberty. Just my thoughts…

As an Englishman I do not know about the constitution of the U.S so cannot comment. And this is not the place for a discussion on abortion.
