I was,

Never there,

Eating dinner at the Rumble Strip,

A legacy of speed dating mayhem,

Not lost,

Happy without,

Bad feelings.

This is my first attempt at a Trinet poem. A form I discovered today, at #teachmetuesdays on twitter. The form consists of seven lines

(cantered) first two lines 2 words, 3^rd and 4^th lines six words and last three lines 2 words each.

What a great sounding book you found Linda. Here this evening we have had to chose a first line from a famous book, given to us by Linda who found a whole book full of opening lines to novels. Dreaming dreams
#poetics.

used to go to bed early.”

to
dream dreams of my future.

For a long
time, I would rise early,

To work
at my dreams of future days.

For a
long time, I would not play,

Dreaming
of when I could in future days.

For a
long time now I have written,

Of the
dreams I dreamt of future days.

Now my
future days are spent,

Working
making others dreams a reality.

My future
days are almost gone,
