Tonight on dverse we have been invited to writ an ekphrastic poem inspired by a Fay Collins painting. i have chosen the picture below. can somebody please give me its title. fay passed away from cancer in september 2021 which is why this propmt was chosen.

eroded coast iso400
“Eroded coastline” Renvyle peninsula by fay collins.

The track ahead rutted and scuffed from many feet,

Did those who journeyed before me,

 hear the same call?

The call of the briny.

The sea shoe beckons to me to her,

Singing her siren song of lusty love,

The smell of sea dragging me by my nostrils,

Down to dunking my toes into salty brine,

Waves washing away niggles from my fatigued feet.

Dropping of to sleep here I know,

I am home, home forever,

I will end my days here,

At the seas edge with life’s,

Rutted and scuffed passageway,

Behind me, now let me walk this my final mile

Down to seas edge to dip my toes one last time.

I have always wished to see the sea,

As my eyes close for the last time.
