Turned

what a great start to the 14th year of #Dversepoetrypub. the byrds song turn turn turn featured inspired this poem

taken at Bushey performing arts festival
Turned.
#quadrille, #dversepoetspub.

Where is the child,
The shy quiet child.

All turned by life.

There is a season,

A turn, turn, turn,
Every new life season.

Turn, turn, turn, adolescent,
Hiding from bad times.

Shy child into poet.

Where is the child,
The shy quiet child.

The Last Poppy

the last poppy

The last poppy.

#anti-war.

Here I stand alone,

Blowing in the breeze,

The last of my kind,

Red.

The bombs of man,

Have finally stopped,

Witness to man’s demise,

Alone.

Scorched blackened earth,

Weapons of war defunct,

No more man,

Death.

Red,

The last of my kind,

Blowing in the breeze,

Here I stand.

I dream

fractured dreams
fractured dreams.
I dream.

#quadrille, #dversepoetspub, #antiwar

Melancholy dreams darken my heart,
Fractured sunrises over war torn lands.

Fractured sunrises forever.

Belief of the greedy weapons dealers,
Propaganda selling arms as peace keepers.

Peace never reached.

Fractured dreams of peace and love,
Melancholy sunrises over promised cease fires.

Never being realised.

A quiet #quadrille

Welcome to #quadrille Monday. hosted over on #dversepoetspub this evening by kim in north northfolk.

the crows a watercolour by Anjouska McDonald.
A quiet poet.
#quadrille, #dversepoetrypub, #antiwar,

Load, load, load up the quiet,
Before your words take flight.

Listen, listen, listen to others loud,
Before your words fight back.

Heal, heal, heal in natures warmth,
Before your words lose meaning.

Watch, watch, watch others war propaganda,
Use your poems for peace.

word tangle.

word tangler
Word tangled.

#quadrille, #word@thewharf, #dversepoetspub,

Tangy words, of love,
Not man’s best friends tonight.

Tongue twisted and tied,
Tangling over our simple.
Joyful Words,

Tied tongue knotting,
Over poems often,
Spoken, tangled tongues.

Live poems with friends,
All tongue tangled,
Word @ the wharf,
Legendry night of tangy words.

Hello again #dversepoetrypub. Tonight's #quadrille we have been asked to write using the tangle reminded me of an evening at a monthly spoken word meet up I attend. one evening last year a number of those who shared their words got tongue tied including myself.
