Stomp!
#blankpage, #dversepoetspub, #elephant.
This blank page requires filling,
Sitting like an elephant in the room,
Imelda Mays “Elephant” ,
Stomping through my brain.
Balls of paper litter my work space,
Tired head refusing to compose,
Theres an elephant stomping around,
In my brain, trumping and angry.
Day to day life is this Elephants name,
Needing pacifying before I can chill,
Sometimes words on a page,
Sometimes music at volume,
Before sleep calls 🤙.
Tonight, both required.
Stomp, stomp, stom………
slumber.........

Lovely way to accredit music as the muse of creations, in more than one form, but for me, it felt nice to imagine an elephant.

Love the sounds of the elephant in the room. It is hard to forget poetry, like an elephant, and sometimes a good night sleep will work wonders.

Roger, “Stomp!” creatively personifies the challenge of facing a blank page as an elephant in the room. The vivid imagery and the incorporation of both words and music before sleep capture the multifaceted release of creative energy. Well done.

I relate to the crumpled up papers. Perhaps that’s a reason why I type.😅

I can feel the elephant’s unease, but also see that rituals calm it.
