a haibun written for tonights prompt about the flower moon
https://dversepoets.com/2021/05/24/haibun-monday-5-24-21-flower-moon/
“Is the dark dumb under your full moon?” asked young city pixie.
“Only in the concrete jungle youngster!”
“Where is the dark not dumb in the moons shadow?”
“Come join me out in the wild flower meadow!”
“Where is the meadow Gramps?”
“Beyond the toxins of man fledgling.”
“Can I return the wild flowers to replace man’s counterfeit meadows?”
“Yes, but only under the flower moon. Come learn how grandchild!”
Only man’s flowers bloom
Under flower moon his home
Our wild flowers death.

So sad that we are not giving enough space to the wildflowers… we have our way of pruning and painting and wilderness is gone

It seems that around here, people are planting more wildflowers and native plants. Hopefully, there will be more of that, and few unnecessary buildings.

We certainly do have a way of messing up the natural beauty of things, don’t we?

Your haibun paints a sad picture! Yes, space for wild flowers becomes less and less with each new clear cut development!
Well done.

‘Beyond the toxins of man’ – you nailed it for me with that line! I love the magical alternative kingdom you created.

City folk have no idea what they’re missing. A connection with Nature would do them all a world of good. 😀

So wise. A meadow is to a lawn what the rainforest is to the Gobi Desert.
