Are my words just folly
Do they bring joy
The way Mussenden temple
brought joy
to Fredrick Augustus
and Frideswide Bruce

One day i may leave a verse
that matches the folly
on the cliffs edge
but for now
this post
i leave you
hoping
they are
not my
last
words
It may well be folly if these be your last words.

Very beautifully penned with a hint of melancholy.

Very nice! We are all living on the edge…yes, hopefully this is not our last line!

Very clever to tie the prompt in with your cheeky words … do hope we read many more!

Your words might end up being as lasting as the folly. If coastal erosion claims it, only words, stories will be left.
On a more prosaic note, after the photo of the door of the folly and the end of the poem there is an ad, a photo of a fridge door. It’s a Darty ad and it will be tailored to my internet search for a new fridge so only I will see it, but WP couldn’t have found a more laughably appropriate ad if they’d tried!

Who knows what will last and what will not… maybe you should carve a poem in stone so it stays on.
